Ismaele
Ismaele nasce da una mia idea primordiale, e subito affinata con Luigi Chialvo.
L’idea è semplice: uno si sveglia su di un’isola, non sa come ci è capitato ma soprattutto non sa chi è. Ed il contesto non lo aiuta certo: è circondato da persone tutte fisicamente identiche fra loro. Il mare intorno all’isola è abitato da strane creature per lo più ostili, e le notti sono popolate da strani battiti di ali.
Che ci fa su quell’isola?
Come ci è arrivato?
Perché tutti pensano che lui sia il prescelto, colui che libererà gli abitanti di Akronya (questo il nome dell’isola) dalla loro maledizione?
E’ stato di fatto il mio primo fumetto a lungo termine, infatti stiamo sempre portandolo avanti, fra uno stop e l’altro dato dai vari impegni. Le storie mescolano Lovecraft a Melville, Verne a Tolkien. E’ un’avventura fantasy. Ma è anche un giallo. Spesso un dramma, a volte una commedia.

Ishmael was born from my primordial idea, and now refined with Luigi Chialvo.
The idea is simple: one man wake up on an island, he does not know how it happened but most do not know who he is. And the context does not help the course is surrounded by people all physically identical to each other. The sea around the island is inhabited by strange creatures mostly hostile, and the nights are populated by strange beats of wings.
What’s he doing on that island?
How did we get there?
Why everyone thinks that he is the chosen one, the one who will free the people of Akronya (this is the name of the island) from their curse?
This is my first long-term comic, in fact we are always bringing it forward, between a stop and the other given by the different commitments. Lovecraft stories mixed with Melville, Verne to Tolkien. And ‘an adventure fantasy. But it is also a noire. Often a drama, sometimes a comedy.
